I was born in Japan in 1968. I acquired the history of the Modern European Philosophy in Sophia University and studied the Philosophy of Spinoza in the master's degree of the same University. While I had been an University student, I started to work as an actor and a director in student theatres and played Puck of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and directed The House of Bernarda Alba (by Federico Garcea Lorca). After the University, I continued directing some stages for temporary companies, and participated in the company NOISE for Koharu Kisaragi's works as an actor and an assistant director. At her workshops I was trained with the unique method of physical and vocal expression and in 1996 joined the tour of The Blue Bears Castle (by Terayama Syuji) of NOISE as an assistant director in Denmark and England (London, Riverside Studio). In 1997 I stayed again in London for six months to take the course for Japanese actors in Royal Academic of Dramatic Art, then in the summer played on the street in London with red nose colleagues who joined me in the clown course. In 1997 I and Japanese actors from NOISE organised the new dramatic company LABO! and in this company I have taken a part of director for Uncle Vania (by Chekhov) and Voyage de Giovanni, a la recherche "pere" (by Betsuyaku Minoru) and Come and Go (by Samuel Beckett) and other 6 works. In 2001 I showed my directed work Sotoba-komachi (by Mishima Yukio) in the drectors competition in Toga. |
